September 2015 Metrics     

Overview:
  • 2014 has generally shown a continued increase in applications for food stamp programs such as CalFresh, averaging 7,744 participants per month in 2014. In 2015, CalFresh applications are so far averaging 7,764 per month with the latest reading from June 2015 showing 8,299 applications for the CalFresh program an increase of 1,030 applications since May 2015, and an increase of 607 compared to June 2014.
  • CalWORKs enrollments in July 2015 reached 1,658 representing an application decrease of 192 since the previous July. Program participation has been relatively steady around these levels since December 2012.
  • Phone calls, website access, and other types of service requests to Orange County 2-1-1 have increased greatly throughout 2014 and 2015, averaging 22,513 requests since January 2014. September 2015 saw a total of 28,478 requests representing an increase of 896 compared to August 2015 and an increase of 6,100 over September 2014.
