Overview:
  • Orange County social service usage increased in recent years reaching levels prior to the large drop experienced in summer 2009.Orange County social service usage increased in recent years reaching levels prior to the large drop experienced in summer 2009.
  • Orange County patterns have followed state patterns.
  • Healthy Families Enrollment in Orange County was fairly constant through the beginning of 2012; however it has shown a downward trend over the last few months. Currently it is at a level lower than the average of the past year.
  • After peaking in June 2010, applications to receive food stamps declined in the beginning of 2011. Yet they have returned to high levels in June and July 2011, although in recent months it has been declining.
  • CalWORKS enrollments are in a decreasing trend overall and experienced the lowest enrollments in February 2012. However, since that low point enrollment has been slowly increasing.
  • Calls to the 211 Service Line have been declining overall since June 2010.
