November 2017 Metrics     

Overview:
  • 2014 has generally shown a continued increase in applications for food stamp programs such as CalFresh, averaging 7,625 participants per month in 2014. Since the beginning of 2016, CalFresh applications averaged 7,407 per month with the latest reading from September 2017 showing 7,135 applications, a decrease of 860 applications since August 2017, and a decrease of 1,204 compared to September 2016.
  • CalWORKs enrollments in June 2017 reached 1,258 representing an application increase of 89 since May 2017 yet a decrease of 100 since June 2016. Program participation has been relatively steady around these levels since December 2012 averaging about 1,420 monthly enrollments since then.
  • Phone calls, website access, and other types of service requests to Orange County 2-1-1 have increased greatly throughout 2014 and 2015, averaging 21,652 requests since January 2014. October 2017 saw requests total of 24,102 representing an increase of 2,648 month-over-month and an increase of 3,825 since October 2016.
