June 2018 Metrics     

Overview:
  • Applications for food stamp programs such as CalFresh averaged 7,566 participants per month since January 2014. Since the beginning of 2016, CalFresh applications averaged 7,376 per month with the latest reading from April 2018 showing 7,311 applications, a decrease of 162 applications since March 2018 yet an increase of 1,158 compared to April 2017.
  • CalWORKs enrollments in March 2018 reached 856 representing an application increase of 80 since February 2018 yet a decrease of 244 since March 2017. Program participation has been relatively steady around these levels since December 2012 averaging about 1,375 monthly enrollments since then.
  • Phone calls, website access, and other types of service requests to Orange County 2-1-1 have increased greatly throughout 2014 and 2015, averaging 21,872 requests since January 2014. May 2018 saw requests total of 24,778 representing an increase of 1,629 month-over-month yet a decrease of 32 since May 2017.
