Overview:
  • Orange County social service usage increased in recent years reaching levels prior to the large drop experienced in summer 2009.
  • Orange County patterns have followed state patterns.
  • Healthy Families Enrollment for Orange County fairly constant for last year but have been gradually increasing through early 2011.
  • After peaking in June 2010, applications to receive food stamps declined in beginning 2011 yet have returned to high levels in June and July 2011.
  • CalWORKS enrollments are in a decreasing trend overall and experienced the lowest enrollments in January 2011 but have since been increasing.
  • Calls to the 211 Service Line have been declining overall since June 2010.
