February 2018 Metrics     

Overview:
  • Applications for food stamp programs such as CalFresh averaged 7,562 participants per month since January 2014. Since the beginning of 2016, CalFresh applications averaged 7,336 per month with the latest reading from December 2017 showing 6,340 applications, a decrease of 559 applications since November 2017 and a decrease of 269 compared to December 2016.
  • CalWORKs enrollments in December 2017 reached 977 representing an application decrease of 162 since November 2017 and a decrease of 142 since December 2016. Program participation has been relatively steady around these levels since December 2012 averaging about 1,396 monthly enrollments since then.
  • Phone calls, website access, and other types of service requests to Orange County 2-1-1 have increased greatly throughout 2014 and 2015, averaging 21,708 requests since January 2014. January 2018 saw requests total of 24,577 representing an increase of 3,518 month-over-month and an increase of 4,949 since January 2017.
