April 2017 Metrics     

Overview:
  • 2014 has generally shown a continued increase in applications for food stamp programs such as CalFresh, averaging 7,744 participants per month in 2014. In 2016, CalFresh applications averaged 7,675 per month with the latest reading from December 2016 showing 6,609 applications, a decrease of 290 applications since November 2016, and a decrease of 595 compared to December 2015.
  • CalWORKs enrollments in December 2016 reached 1,119 representing an application decrease of 97 since November 2016. Program participation has been relatively steady around these levels since December 2012 averaging about 1,457 monthly enrollments since then.
  • Phone calls, website access, and other types of service requests to Orange County 2-1-1 have increased greatly throughout 2014 and 2015, averaging 21,580 requests since January 2014. March 2017 saw a total of 19,938 requests representing an increase of 1,778 compared to February 2017 yet a decrease of 5,430 since March 2016.
