Overview:
  • Orange County Transportation Authority bus ridership levels have been drastically reduced since 2008. Although fiscal year 2011-2012 showed some slight growth, 2012-2013 showed a slight decline. Bus ridership in December 2013 declined since November, though the gap between December 2013 and 2012 is relatively small, a difference of only 165,054 riders.
  • Metrolink ridership rates have widely fluctuated since July 2008, but have reached four-year highs in 2012 overall. Metrolink ridership growth has shown great performance in 2013, peaking in September 2013 with an estimated 352,654 rides combined across the three major Metrolink routes: Orange County Line, Inland Empire – Orange County, and the 91 Line.
  • Both Foothill and San Joaquin toll roads have trended upward through 2013, both with roughly 10 percent increases in usage since the beginning of the year. December transactions on Foothill and San Joaquin have remained relatively steady month-over-month in December 2013, unlike the significant declines seen in December 2012 for both toll roads.
